INSTINCT - 'Instinct' CD (Heidenwut Productions)
"...this is the kind of misanthropic, isolationist black metal which revels in its own cryptic obscurity... a worthy addition to the lineage of misanthropic pagan black metal established by Burzum and carried on these days by bands like Abyssic Hate, Leviathan and Xasthur. And of course, it's encouraging to find music this bleak and dark being made in England, which, it's fair to say, has not been at the cutting edge of black metal evolution in recent decades" (Judas Kiss). UR - 'Trieb' CD (Topheth Prophet)
Ur was born from the collaboration between Federico Esposito and Mauro Sciaccaluga, both hailing from the hardcore-punk scene. The two joined in 2003 to create a new entity. Andrea Ferraris joined the band in early 2005. Ur's music is mostly based on improvisation that usually starts with drones or samples (with no pre-defined structure), over which they superimpose layers of electro-acoustic noisescapes coming from objects, field recordings, analog and traditional instruments processed using a load of pedals and effects. The sound paints a solid, harsh and dramatic industrial lounge where archaic instincts and modern obsessions meet. Outsized folder. Ltd x 300. Israeli import.

VA - 'The Last Bleak Days' CD (Bleak Records)
A stunning isolationist / dark ambient compilation from the label of Haerleif Langas (Northaunt). All tracks are exclusive, and all bands have been asked to take inspiration from the title of the CD. The result is a darkly beautiful, bleak and haunting compilation, featuring: Desiderii Marginis, Diskrepant, Hazard, Instincts, Nacht (ex-Aghast), Necrophorus (Peter Andersson of Raison D'Etre), Non Ethos (Haerleif Langas), Ovum (Karl Midholm), Philip Samartzis, Svartsinn, Tear Ceremony and Wilt. Highly recommended!
