Ab Intra is the Latin phrase for "on the inside". The term is quite appropriately connected with the project's music. The man behind it, Radoslaw Kaminski, claims that he seeks connection with his inner side by exploring the musical territories. Ab Intra is an illustration of the pictures that are created in the mind of the author. However, the form used enables the listeners to interpret the sounds in their own way. Listeners may remember their debut album 'Demiurgia' on War Office Propaganda (2006). Dark Ambient for fans of Inade, Raison d'Etre / Necrophorus, Herbst9, First Law or Endvra. Digipak.

CISFINITUM / THE [LAW-RAH] COLLECTIVE - '[ANS]werk' CD (Fario)
Dark Ambient masters Cisfinitum and The [Law-Rah] Collective dedicated this split and common work to one of the very first synthesizers in the world, the ANS. The ANS, created by Russian engineer E. Murzin, is an incredible response to the synesthesia theories (the letters ANS stand for Alexander Nikolayevich Scriabin who linked tones to colours). The ANS (only one copy exists and is kept in Moscow) generates special frequencies from drawings and can also create a visible image of a sound frequency. Artists such as Coil, Edward Artemiev (for Tarkovsky's "Solaris" soundtrack) and Alfred Schnittke used the ANS in their compositions. For this album, The [Law-Rah] Collective and Cisfinitum based their music on original sounds from the ANS as well as additional recordings of various analog synths, fractal and granular synthesis, voice, violin, field recordings. They give birth to an intense cold and grey music upon which fly ghosts of melodies, archaic or yet to come. A5 sleeve.

CTEPHIN - 'Duad' 7" (Drone Records)
Ctephin are a whole drone-family from the Great Plains creating bizarre and lovely ambient noise, atmospheric and noisy soundscapes with various friends and their 7 children. Calling themselves "Umbrella Noize Collective", they live to the: "Law of Liberty as laid out in Liber AL vel Legis". "Duad" is their first vinyl release and uses pumping drones, field recordings, guitars, metallic effects and a kind of very harmonic cembalo instrument. The two tracks develop in a lovely way; from pure ambience to noise and back. The same use of beautiful harmonics and noise-drones creates quite a special atmosphere. File under Thelemic Light Drones and Drone Lights. First edition of 300 copies on superb gold marbled vinyl in hand-made covers with insert.

EUGENE S. ROBINSON & PHILIPPE PETIT - 'The Crying Of Lot 69' CD (Monotype Records)
The sound, the song, the words, and the mounting narrative spool of the efforts of Phillipe Petit and OXBOW founder and frontman Eugene S. Robinson. "The Crying Lot Of 69", drawing on equal parts Pynchon and the dog eat dog laws of senseless jungle indifference, is the sound of compassion denied. Featuring tales from a killing and forming the first in a trilogy that will see the star cast of characters alternately expanding and contracting, "The Crying Lot Of 69" pulls up a blanket, of concrete, and cozies you into the comfort of a world where the mildest intentions have the wildest effects. Abstract / Experimental. 6-panel ecopak.
F.I.N. - 'La Esperanza Que Nunca Se Pierde... Es La De Morir' CD (Sabbathid Records)
Debut album from Chilean Funeral Doom-Ambient act F.I.N. (Funeral Inconscientemente Natural). Comprised of 3 studio tracks and 1 live bonus track, the first 3 parts are based on the Golden Section - of 9 min, 18 min and 36 min, sung in Spanish, English and French. Although the tracks are taken from their first 3 split releases, this is not a best of as the tracks were always to be an album from the beginning, obeying the laws of natural / divine forces. The bonus track 'The March Of December', was produced by the band as their Anthem to the Hero of Chile.

FJERNLYS - 'Ascending Triads & Luminous Arcs’ 2 x CD (Loki Foundation)
Behind this project hides one of Inade's masterminds - Knut Enderlein. On this first disc, the songs layer cosmic and synthetic sounds and go on tracing according to the principle harmony in the music, their acoustic space feeling very expansive. The voices creep crosswise into sounds and effects to lunar spheres and solar places. The five remixes and interpretations of ANTLERS MULM, BAD SECTOR, FIRST LAW and LOVESPELL on the second disc support the complex character of the whole release and expand the into a new style of Ambient songs. More 'song' based than Inade, Fjernlys reminds of fellow Loki act Predominance. Presented in a double jewel case with a very nice slipcase to finish.
KAMMARHEIT & PHELIOS - 'Of Dawn And Of Ice' 12" (Power & Steel / Loki Foundation)
The third part in the 12" split series is bringing together for the first time on vinyl two highly respected ambient artists from Norway and Germany. Ominous drones, wind swept atmospheres, melodic layers and majestic waves of sounds are underpinned by subtle textures and sonic environments from the deepest woods of the North. With this fine piece of vinyl Kammarheit and Phelios paint an epic picture about the gloomy haze of the dawn and the shimmering of icy landscapes. Ltd x 333 copies. Mastered by Andreas Wahnmann (First Law).
KRZYSZTOF STANISLAWSKI - 'End Of All Things' CD (Zoharum)
First of the new 'IYHHH' series on Zorahum - aimed at showcasing debut albums by remarkable new artists. This is the debut material of Polish composer Krzysztof Stanislawski, an artist inspired by music of movies such as "Pi", "Saw" or "Event Horizon", which echoes of Clouser, Zimmer or Goldenthal. All orchestral sounds have been mixed with industrial soundscapes, giving a new quality. This album is full of emotions, passion, action, tempo changes and surprising atmospheres. Ltd x 444 hand-numbered copies in an outsized ecopak with postcard.
Coming back with an all new album after more than 5 years the alter ego of Herbst9 delivers another outstanding soundtrack about radiological warfare and it's debris during the last century. SWT is like a massive energy spike with a surrounding maelstrom of machine noises, rhythms, interferences and electromagnetic waves. The complex arrangement of technical sounds creates a deadly atmosphere of fallout and devastated landscapes with an apocalyptic aura reflected by dissonant harmonies and deep shimmering ambient scapes. Presented in a 6 panel digipak. Mastered by Andreas Wahnmann (First Law).
MYSTIFIED - 'Passing Through The Outer Gates' CD (First Fallen Star)
Through the end of all things is a new beginning found! The Eulogy Series challenges musicians to create the soundtrack to nothing less than their own death, transition and afterlife, as they see it in their own mind and in accordance with their personal beliefs. Thomas Park (Mystified) has created an album that's worlds apart from his previous releases in both maturity and complexity, and in doing so has opened a new chapter in his own history as a musician. As his body dies and his soul embarks on a timeless journey through an increasingly strange series of gates toward a place of final rest, we find that Thomas` aural vision is crafted with not only spiritual transcendence of this physical world, but also with transcendence of the narrow genres typically used to classify musicians. Ambient and dark ambient soundscapes alike are deftly populated by neo-classical elements, occasionally with an experimental twist! Ltd x 500 copies in a beautifully presented in an A5 digipak with silver foil-embossed lettering and a specially die-cut cover whose coffin-shaped hole reveals only a hint of the true album cover artwork underneath! Mastered by Frederic Arbour (Cyclic Law).

NEW RISEN THRONE - 'Loneliness Of Hidden Structures' Enhanced CD (Cyclic Law)
The latest chapter of a series from Italy's New Risen Throne that began with "Whispers Of The Approaching Wastefulness" (Cyclic Law, 2007) and continued on with "Crossing The Withered Regions" (Cold Meat Industry, 2009). The first of this series is explained as the annunciation of the end, while the second part was expressing the advent of this end. Now this third chapter speaks of rebirth. Within the caves and ruins left by the destruction, there begins to form the first foundations and structures of a reconstruction that is in turn in constant evolution. The album's tracks are structurally organised in order to evoke that evolution. Filled with NRT's now trademark sound of deep cavernous drones, processed voices and percussive moments, this album features exclusive remixes by Nordvargr and Northaunt. Ltd x 1000 copies in a special A5 folder with a video clip for the track 'New Risen Throne (I)'.

NORTHAUNT - 'The Ominous Silence' CD (Cyclic Law / Ewers Tonkunst / Indiestate Distribution)
Re-issue of a long sold out Dark Ambient milestone - the debut Northaunt album which first saw the light of day back in 2001 (Fluttering Dragon). "The Ominous Silence" is more musical album than its followers, with a lot of piano, guitar and synth melodic parts, like in the classical tracks 'De Sorte Trær' and 'Pain Is Better', but the typical Northaunt melancholy and dark gloomy Nordic ambient soundscapes are still there. This edition has completely new artwork, new mastering by Hæleif Langås and the bonus track 'Funeral Inside' (audio version). Ltd x 470 copies in a stunning embossed / spot-varnished mini-LP outsize sleeve with 3 inserts.
POST SCRIPTVM - 'Grey Eminence' CD (Tesco Organisation)
4th full-length offering from these masters of existential necro-industrial. "Grey Eminence" is a meditation on the clandestine forces labouring tirelessly to prevent humanity from achieving its ultimate spiritual goals. The lethargic torpors of ebbing and flowing analogue pulsations and textures, augmented with obscure samples, acoustic string and percussion instruments, alternate with violent hailstorms of rusted scrap metal, moans of apocalyptic machinery and serpentine invocations. Post Scriptvm creates bleak electronic music spanning a variety of post-industrial genres... eerie, hypnotizing death ambient structures to the visceral intensity of industrial noise, invoking surreal, Kafkaesque mental imagery as well as an overwhelming anguish of metaphysical horror. Mastered by Andreas Wanhmann (First Law). Digipak.
