AETHERE - 'In Coma' CD (War Office Propaganda / Rage In Eden)
"In Coma" is the last work of Milan act Aethere, who in the last 4 years perfected their dark ambient / space music hybrid. Binding dilated atmospheres, typical of space music, with more compact and an oppressive style, characteristic of the Swedish masters. "In coma" is created on the feeble equilibrium between life and death: the EEG sound walks through the six tracks until the acme of the mass-sounds. When the EEG becomes a flat line, Aethere dies. ARDITI - 'Omne Ensis Impera' CD (Equilibrium Music)
The highly anticipated new album by the Swedish duo (Henry Möller of Puissance and Marten Björkman) is finally upon us. The sense of determination that echoes through their music and which has brought them to the forefront of Martial / Industrial Neo-Classical scene has stayed untouched. "Omne Ensis Impera" introduces an additional strength to Arditi's compositions - epic orchestral loops and thunderous percussions are granted a more prominent role, stirring the damp and suffocating ambiance that the duo have always produced so well with their use of ominous synths, obscure speeches and mesmerizing narrations. "Omne Ensis Impera" could well be a modern interpretation of the Futurist's goal of glorifying warfare to an artistic expression beyond its inherent violence and intrinsic sense of heroism. Mastered by Kamrat Nordvargr (MZ. 412, Toroidh etc), who also contributed to additional arrangements on a couple of tracks. Presented in a deluxe glossy Digipak, with embossed artwork.

ARDITI - 'Standards Of Triumph' CD (Equilibrium Music)
Boasting the unique personality of Swedish combo H. Möller (Puissance) and M. Björkman, "Standards of Triumph" taps further into the darker tones of Militaristic Neoclassical ambiance that has become the band's trademark, resulting in their strongest effort so far - ever effective in their use of crushing orchestrations and evocative speeches, Arditi hereby drags the listener around muddy trenches, leaving aside overly pompous festive marches or alcohol fuelled merry bunker songs which seem to have become the norm as of late, and casting an hypnotizing veil over the turmoil of warfare-inspired Industrial soundscapes. Digipak.

ARDITI / SIGNA INFERRE - 'Statues Of Gods / Invictis Victi Victuri' Black 10" (Equilibrium Music)
3 exclusive tracks from each band! For "Statues of Gods", Arditi tap into ancient Nordic traditions and incorporate them in their militaristic anthems. The characteristically oppressive soundscapes, pounding percussion and powerful orchestrations are represented in new shades, as elements of Nordic folk music shape Arditi's pieces into slow-motion medieval dances and ceremonial tributes to times past. "Invictis Victi Victuri" is the first release by Signa Inferre. Although the project has only recently surfaced, the maturity displayed in their pieces should quickly earn them a favorable position in the Neo-Classical / Martial Industrial scene. Leaving behind the typical insipid blending of samples lifted from Classical music recordings and looped ad nauseam, Signa Inferre's work develops in fluid and continuous progression, giving birth to fully accomplished epic scores brimming with martial beauty. ATARAXIA / AUTUNNA ET SA ROSE - 'Odos Eis Ouranon - La Via Verso il Cielo' 2 x CD (Equilibrium Music)
Autunna et sa Rose have used material from their first 3 albums, interpreted on piano and cello, and featuring soprano vocals and poetic recitation. They bring to life dramatic pieces that push the typically softer tones of Neo-Classical music into a more demanding ground dominated by Contemporary Classical music. Ataraxia have rearranged a collection of their finest tracks that would fit an entirely acoustic format, revisiting them in a warmer and more intimate form. This selection covers not only tracks from most of their releases, but also titles from the sold-out EPs, as well as two previously unreleased songs and material never before issued on CD. An essential release for those into Neo-Classical music. Released a deluxe limited edition double CD Digipak, complete with booklet.
DELEYAMAN - 'Fourth, Part One' CD (Equilibrium Music)
Deleyaman translate a sense of timeless spirituality into a contemporary and universal language, carrying the listener into a mesmerizing world. Hardly classifiable into a single genre, “Fourth, Part One” combines Darkwave with ethnic, exotic and ethereal elements. The use of several languages (French, English, Armenian) by vocalists Beatrice Valantin and Aret Madilian has always been a distinct characteristic of the band, with inspiration from American poets (Robinson, Hecht, Emerson, Poe) and Lebanese mystic poet Khalil Gibran. Presented in digipak format, accompanied by a 32-page booklet.

HEXPEROS - 'The Veil Of Queen Mab' CD (Equilibrium Music)
The second album from Portuguese act Hexperos pays homage to the queen of fairies and dreams, a creation of Anglo-Saxon mythology, with roots in Celtic legends, referred in works by numerous artists, from Shakespeare or Percy Shelley to Gustave Doré. Hexperos once again combine classical and contemporary approaches to chamber music, incorporating Celtic, Mediterranean, Medieval and Baroque elements in a meticulously crafted and varied opus. Pressed on gold disc and housed in a matt-varnished digipak with gold foil print, “The Veil of Queen Mab” comes with a 16-page booklet beautifully illustrated with visuals by Polish artist Malgorzata Maj (Sarachmet Photography & Illustration).
A collection of slow motion mysterious ballads, balancing light and shade, salvation and loss, matching Irish landscapes and Mediterranean sunbathed seashores with its haunting Celtic vibes that thrive and build upon tribal rhythmic patterns. Much like its 2006 predecessor "Madre, Protégenos", the straightforward and minimalistic overall tone of the album is misleading, as its layered complexity and resonant harmonies reveal themselves at each listen, one mystery at a time, and one step closer to the end of this spiritual quest. Mostly recorded in the Portuguese countryside and in Dublin city, the intricate instrumental backbone is mainly constructed out of traditional instruments. With the mandolin family taking center stage, the tracks have been arranged to incorporate ethnic instrumentation (flutes, uillean pipes) which contrast with the sparse orchestration supplied by cello, violin, acoustic guitars, keyboard pads and piano, supported by the earthbound pulse of the percussion. Presented in a beautiful 6-panel digipak with foilblock lettering.
Íon is the brainchild of Duncan Patterson (Antimatter, Anathema) and is named after the Gaelic word for 'pure'. Although primarily a solo project, a number of guest musicians are involved in this new venture by the Ireland-based musician, which hereby explores a more acoustic, dreamy and organic side to his composition. Having Irish mysticism and an exotic Mediterranean backdrop as its essential cornerstones, the project has slowly evolved into an international venture, stretching over continents and oceans. The music seems to elude strict categorisation, and even the apparently all-encompassing definition of World Music falls short in defining the ethereal moods that "Madre, Protégenos" comes to reveal. Presented in a sumptuous, black and gold foil-blocked, 6-panel digipak.
LES FRAGMENTS DE LA NUIT - 'Demain, C´Etait Hier' CD (Equilibrium Music)
"Demain, c'était Hier" perpetuates Les Fragments De La Nuit's timeless musical quest, blending the radiance of the stars with the dark forces that lurk in the Night. The French ensemble have kept faithful to their trademark style, in which pulsing piano chords set the pace for the string-work woven by cello and violin, haunted by female choirs. The album holds quiet, melancholy-driven moments, that flow into stirring, violent passages and ceremonial atmospheres. The band take contemporary / Neoclassical music beyond its typical standards, recalling the works of composers like Steve Reich, Philip Glass or Arvo Pärt with those of formations such as Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Balanescu Quartet or even the sinister cult-band Magma. A unique musical universe that takes form in an overpowering nocturnal masterpiece. 6-panel digipak.
PUISSANCE - 'Back In Control' CD (Equilibrium Music)
Following the awe-inspiring debut "Let Us Lead", Puissance would return a couple of years later to unleash "Back In Control", a cynical tribute to human evolution and how such evolution inevitably seems to dictate the end of the World and mankind's own extinction. The impending man-made apocalypse which Soderlund obsessively narrates is superbly illustrated by epic martial compositions, to which the pace is set by loud marching drums and Industrial percussion. A compelling work of art, that would bring Industrial music to a new climax, thanks to the glorious Neoclassical arrangements that Puissance have developed for the album. Originally issued via Cold Meat Industry, this rare classic is now finally made available again. "Back In Control" has been remastered and enhanced with one bonus track. Deluxe digipak edition with embossed cover.
Three years after "State Collapse", the cogwheels of the Puissance warmachine have been fine-tuned and put to work again, in a crushing motion that seems to be as defiant and innovative as ever. Musically, "Grace Of God" could well be referred to as a re-definition of the over-abused "Martial-Pop" term, yet Puissance's own superior combination of sumptuous Neoclassical and Industrial elements raises any potential Pop anthem to an entirely distinct level. More melodic and vocal-oriented than before, this latest opus also comes to expose a more rhythmic approach that had been hinted at in previous releases, but which has now morphed into a powerful and relentless driving force in Söderlund and Möller's compositions. Compellingly militant and beautifully apocalyptic, "Grace of God" finds Puissance in top form. Includes an encrypted bonus track! Presented in a stunning spot-varnished, matt digipak. Highly recommended!
PUISSANCE - 'Mother Of Disease' CD (Equilibrium Music)
Reissue of Puissance's 1999 album. With the Industrial rust of early days properly polished, the Swedish duo would further explore their talent for graceful arrangements set to Militaristic Neo-Classical music. Following the overtly confrontational offerings of "Let Us Lead" and "Back In Control", Puissance were now set to resurrect the ghosts of Cold War and the obsession with all things thermonuclear that haunted the planet - the Mother of Disease, as they would call it - over that period. Brooding hymns to suicidal heroism, devotional praises to a new god that would finally bring closure to the human race, the screeching of metal twisting and melting - all of this would find its place in Puissance's own beautiful vision of the impending apocalypse, that they so ingeniously depict on "Mother of Disease". This fine collection, it has been re-mastered and enhanced with one bonus track, presented in a matte-blue deluxe digipak edition.

THE MOON AND THE NIGHTSPIRIT - 'Rego Rejtem' CD (Equilibrium Music)
