The legendary third full length CD by Beequeen from 1995, produced by Mark Poysden, breaking away from the older ambient industrial sound and a much richer sound tapestry. Widely acclaimed as a highlight in the Beequeen back catalogue.   Candor Chasma CANDOR CHASMA - 'Rings' CD (Old Europa Cafe)

Candor Chasma is the new electronic Italian duo of Corrado Altieri (Monosonik, Uncodified) and Simon Balestrazzi (T.A.C., Dream Weapon Ritual). The band name comes from outer space (Candor Chasma is one of the largest canyons in the Valles Marineris canyon system on Mars) and their debut album is a 5-part hallucinogenic voyage inside analogue whirls, multilayered textures made of tapes and white noise, psychedelic frequencies and cerebral ambient-noise. The duo rewrites and revises old school industrial, creating contemporary hypnotic atmospheres and up to date power-electronics explosions yet making full reference to the experimental side of the grey area.   Changes / VinylLP CHANGES - 'A Ripple In Time' LP (White Label)

US Neofolk. "When the concept for this album was in its seminal stages, we came to the realization that there were several songs from Changes' earlier years which had yet to be released in any form. Some had been recorded on early "demo" tapes while others had not. Thus, it was decided that instead of using previously recorded tracks, we would return to the studio to create new renditions of these songs. Additionally, the arrangements, bridges, and harmonies were enhanced to better reflect our current style. Also included in this album are three new songs... Essentially, the album bridges the years from Changes' inception to its present incarnation." White vinyl in an embossed and gold-foiled heavy gatefold cover. Ltd edition of 700 numbered copies!   Cock ESP / Panicsville COCK E.S.P. / PANICSVILLE - 'Last Train To Cocksville' CD (Sunship Records / Little Mafia / Nihilist)

This tribute to 60's bubblegum gods The Monkees comes from a tag team blast of harsh electronic noise and Monkees-baiting cutup between Midwestern free-noise freaks Cock E.S.P. and Panicsville. Monkees tapes are slowed down skrew-style and looped, heavy bleats of burnt feedback squeal and electric currents are squeezed into your ear, grating noise sprouts from a wasteland of sonic detritus, obliterating the Monkees tunes into blots of near-unrecognizable splat with warped renditions of the original songs lyrics. The cover features Cock E.S.P.'s E.W. Hagstrom and Panicsville's Andy Ortmann dressed as train engineers hard at work on the tracks.

David Jackman / 10inch DAVID JACKMAN & PHILIP SANDERSON - 'Terrain' 10" (Die Stadt)

Two tracks from early cassette releases. Side A is an alternative version of "Terrain" by Jackman and Sanderson, originally released on the "0 Degrees North" cassette (Aeroplane 1982). With Jackman overdubbing low guttural growls on a steel strung cello and Sanderson programming coffee-percolation on a drum machine, "Terrain" is a lo-fi production that finds its companions in the work of Throbbing Gristle, Hunting Lodge, and the Broken Flag camp of noise. Side B is a solo piece by Jackman, originally released on the 'Adrift' cassette (Snatch Tapes 1981). It is similarly lo-fi with a hypnotic loop of a monochromatic guitar topped with clanging metals and samples from orchestral swells, which have been drained of all colour and replaced with a swampy din. Dreamcatcher's hot-wired, saturated and hypnotic sound layers, as well as strings and splatters of sonic mess and Power Electronics / old-school / new school aesthetics, have earned them a devoted following in Montreal and beyond. Originally released on cassette in very limited editions on the American Tapes label (run by Wolf Eyes’ John Olson) and Nautical Almanac's Heresee label respectively, "Prom Night " and "Eyes Of Leatherface " are archived here for a larger audience and for posterity.   Flutwacht FLUTWACHT - '30 Monkeys' CD (The Tourette Tapes)

Reissue of the extremely limited (30 copies) Apocalyptic Radio release from 2006, with bonus, previously unreleased, tracks. "30 Monkeys" is the soundtrack for a world controlled by apes, crushing machines and noisescapes. "The music is a degenerate mass of harsh electronic waves and patterns as savage as the primate of the title. Even when Flutwacht lower the decibel levels down a fraction the violent restraint is never far from the surface. A brooding seething mass of noise waiting to erupt once more. The production on this release is crisp and clean... and this gives the recording a greater sense of depth and bite allowing the hugely powerful electronics full reign to take centre stage...   Hoor-Paar-Kraat HOOR-PAAR-KRAAT - 'The Eureka Tapes: The Complete Recordings' 2 x CD (Small Doses / Basses Frequences)

The pieces that make up "The Eureka Tapes" were all created while Hoor-paar-Kraat’s Anthony Mangicapra was living in the town of Eureka, California. Indeed, the town’s name is apt as they represent a “Eurekamoment” for Hoor-paar-Kraat as a musical entity; a figurative spilling of the bath waters as Hoor-paar-Kraat found their sound. The hints of alchemical transcendence that peeped through the cracks of previous releases come brazenly into view throughout. Music dissolves into explorations of texture, acoustic phenomena and the psyche. Originally issued as three separate volumes in a variety of hard to find formats, "The Eureka Tapes" collects the three original volumes, plus Hoor-paar-Kraat’s side of their split cassette with Last and a previously unreleased recording from the same sessions. Hoor-paar-Kraat’s music finds itself travelling the same surreal by-ways as Nurse With Wound, irr. app. (ext.), The Hafler Trio and Coil’s more ritualistic output.

Hypsiphrone HYPSIPHRONE - 'And The Void Shall Pierce Their Eyes' CD (Black Plagve / Malignant Records)

Debut album from this one man project from Greece, fitting right in with labelmate Sewer Goddess in its ability to create innately evil and impure sounds, integrating elements of doom metal, black metal, and dark experimentalism into the pure industrial horror that constitutes the majority of this release. The result is nothing short of absolute and abject dread; 8 tracks spanning an hour worth of material…an auditory overload that’s completely immersive, and at times overwhelming , where heaving masses of percussive doom collide with shuddering machinery dirge, ghoulish and nightmarish ambience, torturous screams, and cinematic depravity, the sounds layered into a tangled and abstract tapestry of something completely epic and nearly majestic in its scale. Fans of Gnaw Their Tongues, Abruptum and “Necro Evangelicum” era BDN will do well to wallow in the oozing blackness and unbridled malevolence Hypsiphrone has created.   Musiikkivyory MUSIIKKIVYORY - 'Tulemme Sokeiksi' CD (Ektro Records)

"Tulemme sokeiksi" ("We're Becoming Blind") is a retrospective CD by Musiikkivyory ("music avalanche"). In addition to being a curious chapter in the endless saga of the post-punk era, this DIY document is also one of the finer, more elusive threads of the cassette-culture scene. Originally issued in 1981, Musiikkivyory's two tapes were the work of Mika Taanila, a 15-year-old who would grow up to become an internationally acclaimed filmmaker. This CD features the key tracks from those micro-edition recordings. Musiikkivyory's output is typical of the early 80s raw zeitgeist, but with a timeless, teen-anguish twist. Taanila heartily embraces punk's total do-it-yourself ideal, yet his style is light years away from the conventional guitar groups of the day: Atonal riffs, home electronics, randomly cut-up radio sounds, noise and primitive industrial weltschmertz blend into a rough, highly personalised whole.

Pacific 231 has been active since 1981, with the first wave of Industrial / Power Electronics music. This 2CD Compendium is a selective collection of early 80's Pacific 231 works.   Pal Asle Pettersen PAL ASLE PETTERSEN - 'Komposisjoner 2005-2008' CD (Zang)

A compilation of Pettersen's electro-acoustic compositions executed within that four year span. "Each work is put together from processed field recordings and tapes of his home-made instruments, not that you'd know it when faced with this near-stony, unfathomable and slightly chaotic abstraction. More often than not I feel like a small pebble rolling down the side of a glacier as I listen. Some composers in this area can't help but look for natural rhythms as they assemble their found materials, exploiting the natural warp and weft of the sounds like rings inside a tree trunk. Not Pettersen, who seems determined to refuse any sort of structural sense in favour of the random and the organic" (The Sound Projector).

Sky Burial SKY BURIAL - 'Threnody For Collapsing Suns' CD (Small Doses / Phage Tapes)

Sky Burial (aka Michael Page of Fire in the Head) has been exploring the dark ambient side of industrial music since 2006, evolving into a unique and steadfast in the genre. "Threnody For Collapsing Suns" is a triptych clocking in at over 50 minutes - thoughtfully composed; incorporating deep drones, shimmering synth work, and lamenting melodic lines. The disparate layers come together to form a surprisingly organic, well-crafted narrative. Threnody continues Sky Burial’s journey into the nebulous dusk of “Kosmische Musik”, and forms part of a loose trilogy with the preceding Kiehtan and forthcoming Aegri Somnia. Ltd x 500 copies.

The Family Elan THE FAMILY ELAN - 'Bow Low Bright Glow' CD (Altvinyl)

“Bow Low Bright Glow” is a communal excavation and re-presentation of buried European folk and sufi-hearted music than any form of experiment. Family Elan are alone in their field. Here, Chris Hladowski has put together a collection of original numbers, visions created from lost / found tapes and traditional pieces that are a fitting companion to Family Elan’s “Stare of Dawn” debut. Alongside Hladowski’s voice, there’s the vocal input of Nalle’s Hanna Tuulikki – a voice as easily capable of gentle Qawwali as it is folk song. This is a record of heavy treble intricacy, Hladowski’s saz and bouzouki playing encompassing drones, folk, dervish progressive work and a woozy shimmer over and through the entwining melodies. Family Elan are more than just a project or a band, Hladowski has endowed the music here with a such a unique voice that shaky shorthand comparisons would be pointless and a short sell. Music that hints at the devotional rarely feels as inclusive, as communal and as enjoyable as this. Gatefold digisleeve.

Wolf Eyes / John Wiese WOLF EYES With JOHN WIESE - 'Collection' CD (Hanson Records)

A collection of the Wolf Eyes with John Wiese 7" plus two EPs originally released in very limited editions on American Tapes in 2003-04. Digitally re-mastered by Wiese and finally available all together! "Combined into one ugly genetic mishap and flesh hacked covered package by Aaron Dilloway's Hanson label, this is a disintegrated release full of blossoming black sounds... The sheer breadth of textures and styles that they have used is nothing short of astounding... Scattered between exploring inner worlds and blowing-out corneas through riotous frequency changes, this is the place where digits are bent from their 0 and 1 roots into self-adapting cyborg sinews. Elements like stuck groove bell work, tape machine cloud cover and delicate looped horns seem like perfectly constructed movements, musical conclusions of thirty minutes of sweaty improv work".
