BOYD RICE AND FRIENDS - 'Music, Martinis And Misanthropy' Picture Disc LP (NER)
This album is considered a classic, yet defies easy categorisation. The music is lilting, hypnotic, and aesthetically quite pleasing to the ear. It features restructurings of works by The Carpenters, Rod McKuen, and Ragnar Redbeard, as well as original vitriolic and humanist pieces and misanthropic tunes by Rice. This album was inspired by Jackie Gleason's romantic recordings from the 1950's. Kind of like a uber-group of the "Apocalyptic Folk" set, the musicians included besides Boyd Rice (NON), Michael Moynihan (Blood Axis) and Douglas P. (Death In June) are Tony Wakeford (Sol Invictus) Rose McDowall (Strawberry Switchblade) and Robert Ferbrache (Blood Axis). This album is worth it's price just for the cover image. Comes with bonus vinyl only track. Full cover picture disc with insert. Ltd x 2000 copies.

BOYD RICE AND FRIENDS - 'Music, Martinis, And Misanthropy 21st Anniversary Edition' LP (Extremocidente)
21st Anniversary edition of this classic release! Kind of like a uber-group of the "Apocalyptic Folk" set, the musicians included besides Boyd Rice (NON), Michael Moynihan (Blood Axis) and Douglas P. (Death In June) are Tony Wakeford (Sol Invictus), Rose McDowall (Strawberry Switchblade) and Robert Ferbrache (Blood Axis). "Some records do not need an introduction. Some records define a genre and refine a chain of thought. They give you a pat in the back and let you know they've been there forever. They let you know you're right. Music Martinis & Misanthropy came out 21 years ago. There is no need for an age of consent to unwrap all its gifts but it feels damn nice to be 21 and this is a gift, from us to you: 2 tracks from the original release, one from the CD reissue and two new. Pressed in mint green vinyl and limited to 666 numbered copies, housed in a UV spot varnished cover and with six postcards and a lyrics inner... Life feels great."

CRISIS - 'Holocaust Hymns' CD (Apop Records)
Crisis came into existence in the late '70s amidst the British hardcore punk movement. They took the same energy that came from the youthful, raw anger of the Oi! movement, but with restrained lyrical phrasing and strict rhythms. Members include Douglas P. and Tony Wakeford who would later expand upon some of the Crisis material for their Neofolk group DEATH IN JUNE. Wakeford later went on to form SOL INVICTUS, whilst Luke Rendall and Lester Jones would later find involvement in Theatre Of Hate and Sex Gang Children, respectively. This is Crisis' entire remastered discography from 1978-1980, complete with a 12 page booklet featuring exclusive photos from Douglas P.'s private archives.

LOVAC - 'Apes Of A Cold God CD (Soleilmoon)
Swedish folk / industrialists Lovac is a new band with old roots, having already released a full-length CD of Death in June covers on Douglas P.'s NERUS label under the name Down in June. With a distinctive "totenpop" vision they re-invented the songs to the delight of both Death In June fans and music journalists who discovered the treasure of Douglas P. songs anew. Lovac’s music evokes a night-of-the-world mood that deftly calls down the nostalgia of romanticism and overlays it with a war machine blowing a cold breeze of death into the dawn. Lovac is part of a larger movement of modern European pop music that draws inspiration from traditional folk music and brings it to new life in a fertile clash with the contemporary minimalistic industrial scene. Combining this music with text fragments from Karl Marx, Antonin Artaud and Percy Bysshe Shelley, “Apes of a Cold God” invites the listener to take a deep look into the abysmal underside of civilization. Lavishly printed mini-LP style sleeve with gold foil blocking and an eight page booklet.
NAEVUS - 'Relatively Close To The Sea' CD (Hau Ruck!)

The album also features contributions from Greg Ferrari (Womb), Joanna Quail (SonVer), Matt Howden (Sieben) and Arthur Shaw (Cutty Sark). Many of the tracks here have already been performed live at recent Naevus festival appearancese. However, the tracks on offer branch out in a range of other directions; existential pop, murder balladry, slide guitar and lo-fi synths, progressive influences (Hawkwind, Pink Floyd, etc.) and John Cale-esque piano pounding. Packaged in a digipak with 12 page booklet.

This compilation of 15 European and American artists pays tribute to David Tibet's Current 93 which along with stablemates Death in June and Sol Invictus, founded apocalyptic folk as we know it. This tribute is acknowledged by Tibet himself who contributed to the CD artwork by providing an image of Ethereal City which is taken from his personal collection of paintings by the Outsider artist, Louis Wain. The contributions to this tribute are not attempts to imitate but to cover C93 in the respective styles of the various artists. But such is the material that the spirit of Current inevitably shines through. VIDEL - 'D'Monique Velsmord' CD (Section XIII COMA)
A 65-minute long meditative-ritual-drone-ambient mantra performed during three nocturnes 29 May - 1 June 2009. "...one is caressed by atmospheric waves of isolation, synchronized with death rattling drones against the static silence... Drones of anguish with bleak undertones of death pierce through the remnants of mania: an empty void liberating forgotten grief to entomb the listener in an aching trance, to reminisce in sorrow... D’Monique Velsmord embodies the essence of grief, a melancholic funeral dirge embracing the bleeding hues of emotion in isolation; the serenity in solitude…" (Ellamorte). Originally issued in an edition of just 5 copies in 2009. Remixed in May 2010. Ltd x 1087 copies in a slimline DVD case.
