Reissue of the 1994 album (originally released on Circle's own label Bad Vugum) from Finnish Krautrock heroes Circle. This new release features updated album artwork and has been digitally remastered as well. Meronia's 70+ minutes of simultaneously mesmerizing and crushing songs laid the foundations for future Circle albums to come. Although various incarnations of the band have since created over 20 full length releases, the fundamental things at the heart of Circle were already present on this, their first album.

CIRCLE - 'Miljard' 2 x CD (Ektro Records)
Exploding walls of psychedelic guitars, "ingenious pop compositions", motorik krautrock, melodic harmonies, intensive riffs and ecstatic vocal performances? This album does NOT contain any of the things previously mentioned! Slow-moving abstract atmospherics, inspiring and determined wandering and a stagnant universe of winter are present on Finnish act Circle's double release "Miljard". New Wave of NWOFHWM! The album was produced by Mika Rättö. Rocking has been traded for some quiet reading on the couch at home. Comes with a 20-page booklet.

CIRCLE - 'Rautatie' CD (Ektro Records)
Circle is ever changing, ever Circular. On "Rautatie" the Finnish six-piece once again dives into uncharted waters of music, into a miasma of influences that feels vaguely familiar but, in an uncanny way, is not quite real. "Rautatie" is epic hard rock and colossal riffs that corrode into fragments of black metallic atonality over time. Occasionally the album’s majestic elements step aside and let sprinkles of athletic boogie take the center stage. Together the eight tracks on the album form a hard rocking bullet train, speeding ever onwards on a circular railroad to infinity.

This release gathers recordings for a session at WFMU, recorded during their second US tour and captured live on the 25th September 2007. Spread over the four sides are the six cuts which made up Circle’s second session for WFMU, once more capturing the self-proclaimed New Wave of Finnish Heavy Metal outfit proving themselves to be almost everything but ‘Heavy Metal’ despite possessing the only too apparent ability to compete with the best amongst that world. Taking in operatic vocals, unearthly mulch, psychedelic splurge, nods towards folk and krautrock, and mammoth riffs capable of knocking down nearby buildings, avant-rock has rarely arrived both so potent and in dire need of a straitjacket before. Gatefold digisleeve with printed inner sleeves.

CIRCLE - 'Tulikoira' CD (Ektro Records)
The mysterious acronym "NWOFHM" was revealed to the world for the first time in 2005 when this mysterious sequence of letters dominated the centerfold of the booklet of Tulikoira, a studio album by prolific Finnish krautrock band Circle. It is likely that the meaning of NWOFHM was initially nonsensical to most of Circle's listeners, but some of them may have been able to dig up the phrase "New Wave of British Heavy Metal" from the nethermost recesses of their helmets, and to deduct that this variation probably referred to a localised Finnish version of this 80's phenomenon - only over twenty years too late. 2009 edition with slipcase.
JUSSI LEHTISALO - 'Rotta' LP (Ektro Records / Full Contact Records / Svart Records)
The international heavy metal bass superstar and aspiring Finnish singer-songwriter Jussi Lehtisalo has taken a break from his duties in the hard rock group Circle and gone solo to seek direct means of expression for his inner moods. The resulting vinyl-only album "Rotta" is a touching collection of psych-rock / ambient / experimental tunes, which lead the listener through the sidewalks, back alleys and small corner pubs of Lehtisalo's hometown Pori. Ltd x 500 copies with art by illustrator Jussi S Karjalainen.

PHARAOH OVERLORD - 'Siluurikaudella' CD (Ektro Records)
Pharaoh Overlord - masters of rigid hypnotic riffing and overlords of rock 'n' roll repetition - surprise everybody on their latest offering by propelling themselves head first into three lengthy surreal partitures. Instead of the familiar avalanche of distortion and metronome-like drumming, "Siluurikaudella" offers a sound that has been stripped of all traces of rock music. Has the ever-present riff disappeared? Is it still buried somewhere beneath the unpredictable textures woven by three guitars, drums and bass? Are the results too obscure for rockers? Too avant-garde for jazz connoisseurs? For fans of Finnish stoner / space / psych rock ala Circle.
A tasteful combination of improvised thrash noise / metal by Pymathon (Topias Tiheäsalo and Jaakko Tolvi - the former known for his collaboration with RLW and solo CD, the latter for banging drums in Rauhan Orkesteri) and harsh noise-driven free jazz (not dissimilar to Merzbow in places) by Gentle Evil (Janne Tuomi and Tommi Keränen - the former known for a solo CD and percussion for Circle, the latter for being the other half of Testicle Hazard). Three tracks from Pymathon and a single, long track from Gentle Evil. "Both kick ass, crush skulls and are loud enough to demolish buildings". A solid improv guitar rant for those of a sturdy disposition! Finnish import.
