Biography:
The idea to form the music project which turned out to
become Sagittarius evolved in the end of 1998. Back then band-founder
Cornelius Waldner was concentrating his musical skills on his black metal-band
Hailstorm, but felt the urge and need to work more intensively with classical
music and soundscapes.
New material is presently under heavy construction. In
February 2006, Sagittarius participated in the creation of a soundtrack
for a short movie entitled "Gelegenheit Leben", in March 2006,
Sagittarius recorded new material that is featured on "Salon Décadence",
a split-CD with Rose Rovine E Amanti, Tho-So-AA, Shava Sadhana, and Echo
West. The new album, "Songs from the Ivory Tower", based on
poems by Stefan George, Bernhard von Uxkull and Timo Koelling, was released
by Cold Spring in May 2008. The future appears to be interesting.
