Biography:
Kreuzweg Ost, founded in 2000 by well known Austrian
underground musicians Michael Gregor (SUMMONING / AMESTIGON) and Martin Schirenc, released their
first album “Iron Avantgarde” in 2001 on Napalm Records. Working
with a new line up from 2003 their 2nd release “Edelsrost”
was released on Cold Spring.
Kreuzweg Ost’s concept is about making musical
translations of various movies dealing with military or religious topics.
The selection of films ranges from literature-adaptations to, in some cases,
complete trash. This mixture of sophisticated and degenerated language
conjures up an unfamiliar atmosphere and tells a new tale of life in
conflict. The combination of martial rhythms and melancholic melodies builds
the essence of our musical concept: to take the listener back to times
and places long gone.
