Biography:
Kreuzweg Ost, founded in 2000 by well known Austrian
underground musicians Michael Gregor and Martin Schirenc, released their
first album “Iron Avantgarde” in 2001 on Napalm Records. Working
with a new lineup from 2003 their new release “Edelsrost”
is out now on Cold Spring Records.
Kreuzweg Ost’s concept is about making musical
translations of various movies dealing with military or religios topics.
The selection of films ranges from literature-adaptions to, in some cases,
complete trash. This mixture of sophisticated and degenerated language
conjures up an unfamiliar athmosphere and tells a new tale of life in
conflict. The combination of martial rythms and melancholic melodies builds
the essence of our musical concept: to take the listener back to times
and places long time gone.
Work is underway for Kreuzweg Ost's 3rd album, to be
released on Cold Spring. |
